Recent Prints

I have been working on a series of prints that I'm actually quite pleased with, they are starting to go in a certain direction that reflects what I want to convey (more on that later) and are the product of feeling more settled with the print studio and what it can do for me.

All print studios  have different characters and the Thames Barrier Print Studio is no different. I'm lucky that when I work in the studio early on Sunday mornings its normally quiet and I can spread myself out and really think about what I'm doing. The time I have in the studio is precious and usually only a few hours but very compressed. I know I could work longer but in some ways that may slow the immediacy down and besides I usually just have too many other things to do on a Sunday but perhaps soon I will start spending more time in the studio.

The prints shown here are in proof condition so not final edition prints, but quite often I like the proof better than the final prints because they contain more of the process that for me is resonant. As you can also see I'm not worrying that much about the photography.

All the prints are etching and aquatint on Zinc and are generally A4 or A3 size.
